Molly Nilsson

Molly Nilsson in Gulpd cafe, Triskel

When Molly Nilsson played in Cork she made me feel like I was in an episode of Twin Peaks. Which makes me wonder where this photo of her feet was taken. You can buy her albums here or find her on FaceBook here

iPhone location shots for exciting theatre project

I’m going to be doing some work on promotional material for an exciting Granary Production coming this summer. Did a visit to the location recently to get a feel for it and took these shots on the iPhone (colour adjusmtents made in Photoshop).

You can also check em out here old skool on my Flickr stream.

Would Andy Warhol love this or hate it?

This 5 hour slow-mo video piece of model Adriana Lima waving a flag was released as a promo for an ad in the Superbowl.

5 hour. Promo. For an ad.

It has 278,759 views on YouTube and plenty of tweets so as a marketing tactic for Kia Motors I guess it’s working, and it’s apparently most popular with the male demographic which leads me to believe that generally speaking people are appreciating it for something other than any similarity to Andy Warhol’s Empire (clip here).

Seeing as Andy also allegedly once said a good photo was one that was in focus and of a famous person, I’m guessing he’d love this.

Lego, Dinosaurs, creativity, and the youth of today

Lego, Dinosaurs, creativity, and the youth of today

Saw this Lego product today while browsing Lego toys, and it got me musing over the ever increasing move toward ready made pieces and away from the old school bricks I loved when I was growing up. Admittedly, even the Lego I loved had horses and certain Space Lego pieces that weren’t strictly old school… but where should the line be drawn to encourage creativity in the use of Lego and not just prescribed scenarios?

Also that’s not a skirt that’s a belt, and do they really call that noise music?

Stop Internet censorship, Stop SOPA Ireland

Stop Internet censorship, Stop SOPA Ireland

Over the weekend I gave the Stop SOPA Ireland campaign a small bit of help, putting together some banners and timeline covers… I can’t take a huge amount of credit for the work since Sabrina Dent had the design direction set by the site and the source files ready to go – but I think they look well and it felt good to lend a hand to the cause :)

If you’re not up to speed on what Stop SOPA Ireland is, check out the Stop SOPA Ireland website, read the briefing document or watch the short exchange in the Dáil below.

If you’d like to get a FaceBook timeline cover to spread the word you can grab them here.

Google, you big web bully you, hands off my design

Google themselves can be extremely ad heavy before the fold

What are the implications of Google’s “page layout algorithm” and could it herald a whole new way in which Google intends to dictate how websites should be designed, developed and function?
