Brian Barry is exhibiting another selection of Pinhole Photo Etchings from Mexico, Guatemala & Honduras.
I own one of the prints from his previous exhibition and I highly recommend checking out these beautiful pieces. They’re lovely enough online but in the flesh they’re something else.
The exhibition opens Saturday the 1st of May (2010) in the Basement Project Space, Camden Place, Camden Quay, Cork. It runs until the 13th of May.
Mexico’s Copper Canyon, the childhood towns of ‘Pedro Paramo’ author Juan Rulfo, a town destroyed by a volcano and an eruption in Guatemala all provided inspiration for this collection.
All Pinhole Photos are hand printed from copper plates using a Photo Intaglio Etching process and are all of a limited edition.
You should check out Brian’s blog for more info and more incredible pinhole photography posts, including pieces he made with a camera made from a matchbox and from a hollowed out book. He also has an Etsy shop which I just discovered, with some incredible work that have ridiculously low price tags.
